RSI La 2 is a generalist channel in Switzerland which used to be known as TSI 2 between 1997—the year it was created—and 2009. It is owned by Swiss public broadcasting organization Radiotelevisione Svizzera di lingua Italiana, and it airs programs in Italian language.
RSI La 2 airs content in high definition (1080i) and also in SD (576i), and it is the sister channel of RSI La 1. It is available via cable, satellite and IPTV. Over the years, it has been a major sports for Switzerland’s Italian-speaking population, with live coverage of sporting events across various disciplines.
RSI La 2 has obtained several sports media rights in the past, which has enabled it to cover the Alpine Skiing World Cup for skiing fans; Australia Open, US Open and Wimbledon for tennis fans; Hockey World Cup for hockey fans; and FIM MotoGP World Championship for motorcycling fans. Historically, football fans have also enjoyed many competitions on RSI La 2, such as the English Premier League, FIFA World Cup, UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.
