Japan and Spain go into Thursday night’s Group E clash with plenty still on the line as both look to reach the World Cup knockout stages.
La Roja must simply avoid defeat, while a win would guarantee them top spot in the group. Japan, however, need to win to be sure of advancing, while a draw would be enough if Germany and Costa Rica also draw.
So, it’s all primed to be a tense, yet enthralling, final-night showdown on Thursday.
Date, kick-off time and venue
Japan vs Spain is scheduled for a 7pm GMT kick-off on Thursday, December 1, 2022.
The match will take place at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

Japan vs Spain team news
For Spain, Alvaro Morata has surely done enough to earn a start after twice coming off the bench to score. Marco Asensio would likely be the man to make way.
Cesar Azpilicueta would be pushing for a recall at right-back, otherwise it should be a case of as you were from Luis Enrique.
Japan are also likely to make limited changes. Junya Ito may have done enough off the bench against Costa Rica to earn a start ahead of Yuki Soma.
Up front, Ayase Ueda had a torrid game last time out, so this could be Takuma Asano’s chance to impress from the off after two substitute appearances.
Japan vs Spain prediction
Japan started the tournament in stunning fashion by beating Germany, before throwing away their momentum with a meek 1-0 loss to Costa Rica. The pressure remains on against Spain, which may not work in the Blue Samurai’s favour.
Spain have impressed so far, scoring eight goals across two games – though seven came against Costa Rica – and should have enough to win.
Spain to win 2-0.
